This mural was created in Los Angeles—a city of contrasts, where personal stories constantly intersect with collective mythologies. The work centers on a human figure rendered in a graphic, almost carved style, emphasizing the tension between light and shadow, visibility and anonymity. Yellow dominates the composition as a symbol of light, energy, and inner strength, while black areas introduce a sense of pressure, doubt, and urban noise. The figure’s gaze is directed outward—toward the viewer and the surrounding street—transforming the wall into a point of dialogue between art and the city. The project explores themes of identity within the immigrant and multicultural context of Los Angeles, questioning who we become in an ever-changing environment and how one preserves an authentic voice among many others. The mural functions as a visual marker of presence—personal, cultural, and artistic—within the public space of the city.
