The work explores the theme of boundaries — physical, social, and psychological. Two adjacent portraits are perceived through a fence, which becomes a metaphor for systems of control, separation, and unequal access to freedom and visibility. Stripped of specific identity, the figures invite the viewer to read them as a collective experience: migration, labor, war, and the condition of existing “on the other side” of societal structures. The work raises questions about who defines these boundaries and whom they are truly meant to protect.
